Russia to provide unprecedented support to Belarusian economy

MINSK, Mar 14 (PRIME) -- Russia has made unprecedented steps to support the Belarusian economy, the Belarusian government’s press secretary Natalya Eismont said late on March 11 following a meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko.

“I would like to add that as the president of Belarus said after the meeting Russia has taken serious and unprecedented steps to support the economy of our country,” she said.

The Belarusian government’s delegation is to visit Moscow on Monday to work out steps after the agreements between Putin and Lukashenko on mutual support of the two countries in the wake of the Western sanctions.

During the negotiations, the two leaders discussed сooperation in the industry, agriculture, and cargo transportation, as well as prices for energy, and achieved mutually beneficial agreements, Eismont said.
